Ruder Finn, a leading independent global integrated communications agency, is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a HR generalist supporting multiple business teams across the U.S., with responsibilities spanning employee relations, culture, talent management, and more. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders on generalist activities for their groups including talent development, employee engagement, employee relations, onboarding, and HR operations
- Collaborate with HR team on core human resources processes including employee relations, onboarding, benefits, employee wellness programs, learning and development, reporting, talent acquisition, diversity, equity and inclusion, and performance management
- Lead and drive our Executive Trainee Summer Program including managing recruitment, program development, onboarding/offboarding and performance reviews for this highly touted program
- Execute and drive culture, recognition and engagement initiatives across our NY office in-person and with our remote staff virtually
- Assist in the development and roll out of internal programs, best practices, and process improvements
- Develop strong relationships with both employees and company leaders to help navigate employee relations issues
- Demonstrate HR expertise through thoughtful decision-making, appropriately maintaining confidentiality
- Evaluate, inform, coach, and motivate employees, managers and hiring managers
- Executive day-to-date responsibilities including general administration functions such preparing materials, driving new hire orientation, scheduling training classes, completing employment verification requests, benefits enrollments, assisting with system updates, as well as special tasks and projects
- Help create and implement agency-wide people focused initiatives
- Counsel employees and/or candidates on effective solutions to problems
- Understand and display advanced judgment regarding full scope of work, stay well-informed of changes in applicable laws and policies
- Fully embrace the agency’s culture and the firm’s vision, mission, and values
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ year proven track record in Human Resources, preferably within communications, public relations, or agency environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Workday a plus
- Core understanding of the public relations industry and the role of an HR partner within the professional services industry
- Experience in administering human resources policies, programs, and practices, including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple deadlines
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong initiative, good judgment, ability to evaluate complex issues and suggest alternatives/solutions
- Ability to work with individuals across all levels, including C-level, and in various situations
- Discretion, understanding the sensitive nature of confidential employee information
- Exceptional project, time, and people management skills
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail
- Strong research, analytical and communication skills

The anticipated salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $95,000 – $125,000. The salary of the applicant selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, internal equity, geography, relevant years of experience, certifications, skills, abilities of the selected applicant, and other job-related qualifications. In addition, a range of medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available by the company.
