Role Overview
We are looking for a Consultant Director to lead our small and highly talented US Consultancy team delivering brilliant work to some of the world’s biggest brands. This position is for a strategic and commercial individual to manage and inspire, implementing our commercial strategy to drive revenue growth. With a background in creative strategy, branding, trend forecasting or innovation and proven commercial ability to lead client relationships, this role will be responsible for the end to end delivery of pitches and proposals, research solutions and brilliant strategy.

At WGSN we have a high performing Consultancy team, WGSN Mindset, made up of Researchers, Strategists, Consultants, Directors and Data Analysts who work hard to deliver highly strategic, creative and actionable bespoke research to our clients.
Our teams are diverse, tenacious, resilient, and extremely dedicated because they truly believe in the value WGSN’s trends forecasts and specialized intelligence brings to our global clientele, who operate across the Fashion, Beauty, Interiors, Food & Drink and Consumer Tech industries.
Key Accountabilities
- Own and direct the largest and most senior client relationships, constantly identifying potential growth opportunities for the Mindset business in the US
- Work hand in hand with Account Management & Sales teams sell Mindset into existing and new customers.
- Respond to client briefs and develop commercially viable research solutions, enabling us to deliver on financial KPI's and achieve operational excellence
- Oversee and lead qualitative and/or quantitative primary and secondary research across a variety of methodologies, working with Consultants and Data Analysts to provide actionable trend forecasts that will benefit our clients' future business
- Identify new methodologies and analysis frameworks that will ensure best in class consulting that consistently wins new business
- Accountable for the relevancy and quality of the work delivered to clients, evaluating feedback to maintain and improve standards
- Line management with responsibility for team(s). Responsible for oversight of team’s performance, 1-1s and personal career development plans
- Travel nationally and internationally to deliver high value consulting projects to clients

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
- Agency or consulting experience is a must, demonstrating an understanding of the operational models that underpin commercial success for consultancy and the ability to implement strategy for an organization
- Extensive experience within a consultancy or advisory role working with clients in one or more of WGSN’s focus industries (Fashion, Beauty, Interiors, Food & Drink and Consumer Tech), confident in delivering insights to senior client stakeholders
- Product design knowledge would be a plus
- Expert level of research and analysis skills, proficient in the development of strategic insights and forecasts through extensive knowledge of the global market and understanding of the principles of trend forecasting
- High level of understanding of the role data and analytics plays in commercial success.
- Ability to lead teams, prioritize workload, manage and support other members of the global team.
- High level of proficiency in leading projects and initiatives across multiple teams and time zones
