The Recipe Development Associate is a member of the Recipe Development team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Recipe Development. Their duties focus primarily on tactical support of the Recipe Development Team with an emphasis on Pantry Development and Recipe Testing to ensure seamless processes and maximum customer satisfaction.
Detailed Responsibilities
Pantry Development Support
- Supports Pantry Development Team with ingredient supply chain processes
- Assists with tactical quarterly processes in Admin
- Supports Culinary Shorts and Replacements Process (coverage includes working on-call nights and weekends)
Recipe Testing Support
- Executes recipe and technique testing with a focus on overall customer experience
- Updates recipe steps in accordance with Home Chef recipe guidelines
- Supports recipe testing for special projects within the Culinary Team and client partnerships
Content Team Support
- Supports editing and photography workflows with a keen eye for detail and understanding of Home Chef customer experience
Culinary General Work
- Actively participates in daily stationing & tastings of R&D meals
- Supports sampling for Culinary R&D and Food Supply Chain
- Attends weekly Culinary Team meetings
This position requires no travel.
Qualifications

- Completion of a two-year program such as an Associate degree
- 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a related field
- Culinary background and/or experience in the food industry strongly preferred
- High attention to detail - must adhere exactly to Home Chef cooking specifications
- Strong communicator with the ability to provide clear and concise feedback
- Basic knowledge of Google apps such as Gmail and Google sheets preferred
- Experience with recipe writing or editing highly desired
- Must be able to taste and provide thorough feedback on every meal and ingredient sampled in the kitchen, including vegetarian, pork, chicken, steak, and seafood meals, as well as meals with gluten, dairy, and added sugar

Home Chef offers the base salary range as posted below, with the exact offer depending on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, and internal equity. While compensation is within the provided range, it is not typical for offers to be made at the upper end. In addition to base salary, Home Chef provides a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare coverage, 401k match, and paid time off.

$55,000—$65,000 USD
