Your Role as an Editor/Producer:
As a part of the Padres Production team, your role as an editor/producer will be to conceptualize and execute engaging, dynamic, exciting and story driven video edits for In-Game elements, social media, marketing and other events throughout the Padres organization. Collaborating with a team of like-minded individuals, you will be tasked with working with a high degree of detail and efficiency in a fast-paced, high leverage environment.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Producing/Editing for video displays in-park, commercial production campaigns, in-game feature videos and special video projects, using Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects and Photoshop
- Conceptualizing and editing dynamic, engaging, and exciting videos for in-game videos, broadcast, and online social media videos including YouTube, commercials and long format programming
- Creating content for the main video board display and supporting LED ribbon & auxiliary displays in the ballpark
- Serving as a videographer and crew for production video shoots when needed
- Editing videos for community outreach and developing videos for presentations, corporate partners, and other Petco Park events
- Writes scripts and acts as a producer on commercial and special video edits, including editing, color correction, graphics and sound design
- Traveling to spring training in Peoria, Arizona to produce media, edit features, daily feeds and social media content
- Assuming other duties as directed by the Director of Production
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
- Proficient computer skills including experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer
- Possess creative and artistic skills for video and audio editing in a high leverage environment
- Maintain good working knowledge about the Padres’ organization, its personnel, history, other departments and their roles
- Able to produce, edit, color grade, sound design and export videos in a consistent manner
- Able to work efficiently, and turn projects around in a short time frame when needed
- Proven ability to edit both long form and short form content
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
- Able to collaborate and offer ideas on a consistent basis
You will be required to meet the following:
- Four-year college education, equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience as a video editor/producer/videographer or relevant work experience. Sports related experience is a plus
- Must have expert knowledge and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with the following software: Adobe Creative suite, primarily Premiere software, Photoshop, and After Effects
- 2D/3D Motion Design knowledge is a plus, but must be able to navigate After Effects to alter existing projects/templates
- Must have a strong understanding of color grading
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines for broadcast
- High level of knowledge of file and content management, file formats, codecs
- Post-Production experience for a Sports Team, at a TV station, production house, or equivalent entertainment venue
- Must have knowledge of video cameras and field production equipment, cameras including Sony Cinema and CineAlta, GoPro, and RED digital cinema cameras
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed. Ability to travel for an extended period of time during Spring Training (approximately 2 weeks)
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
- As a condition of employment, the job candidate(s) must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment background check and drug screening
Salary and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $68,640 to $72,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
