Summary:
Our client, a national construction company, is seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Human Resources to lead their HR function. This role will oversee regional HR operations, drive organizational change, and ensure alignment with business objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic industry. The ideal candidate will bring extensive HR leadership experience within the construction or related industries, a track record of managing large-scale operations, and expertise in change management and workforce strategy.
Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership by aligning HR initiatives with business objectives while overseeing core HR functions such as talent management, compensation, and benefits. Additionally, the VP of HR will drive organizational development and culture, focusing on employee engagement and leadership growth. They will also ensure compliance with labor laws and mitigate risks through effective policies and practices. Lastly, the role requires expertise in HRIS and data-driven management to optimize HR processes and support informed decision-making.
- Leverage executive leadership abilities and a strong work ethic to collaborate across the organization in crafting comprehensive HR strategies that foster growth, support organizational evolution, ensure alignment, and guide change management efforts.
- Oversee all HR functions including employee relations, performance management, training and development, policy implementation, and succession planning.
- Oversee HR initiatives such as strategic planning, leadership development, change management, and succession planning to maintain the organization's agility and competitiveness.
- Assist in promoting awareness of unions and ensuring a clear understanding of essential labor laws and regulations.
- Develop, assess, and uphold HR policies and procedures to reduce legal risk and promote organizational growth.
- Consistently seek opportunities to refine HR processes and integrate HR technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of HR experience, preferably within construction or related industries
- Experience leading HR for a company with 1,000+ employees
- Proven ability to manage regional HR operations and multi-site teams
- Strong background in change management, workforce planning, and organizational development
- Expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and HR strategy
- Ability to collaborate with executive leadership to drive business goals and cultural transformation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-driven approach
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $225,000 - $250,000 (depending on experience)
- Bonus: up to 25-30%
