Responsibilities
This position will support a Deal Manager, performing a wide range of activities and projects including financial analysis and structuring of multifamily mortgages, analyst duties for the national GSE production team, collaborating with a variety of Berkadia divisions, and project assistance in growing the firm’s national mortgage banking production. Responsibilities will include:
- Actively communicate with Berkadia’s mortgage banking network on products and policies.
- Work collaboratively with Berkadia’s mortgage banking network, credit teams to ensure a streamlined processing of transactions.
- Provide analyst duties for the national Agency origination team including:
- Review, size and price multifamily transactions with the product originations team during the quote process
- Communicate with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac during the quote process
- Draft quotes to the business and credit teams, and add quotes to Salesforce-based internal tracking system
- Draft internal approval memos for Berkadia’s Fannie Mae Credit Committee
- Understand and review loan servicing data
- Review pertinent multifamily market information, including rent/sale comps, capitalization rates, market vacancy, industry trends and other data necessary to evaluate specific loan opportunities or more broadly to assist in developing and building the production platform, including competitor information.
- Participate in process improvements and technological initiatives that facilitate smooth deal execution, as needed.
- Remain current on GSE housing programs, policies, and legislation, including participation in regular training with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and other multifamily funding providers.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal including ability to interface with both internal and external customers
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to organization policies and procedures
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- At least one year of experience in a Commercial Real Estate or similar role
- Experience in underwriting agency (GSE) multifamily loans is a plus
- Affordable housing knowledge is a plus
