Recruiting People Operations and Talent Acquisition is lots of fun - our candidates are responsible for ensuring that the businesses they work for are brilliant at attracting, retaining and developing high-performing, diverse talent.
The UK is currently our largest market but, over the last few years, we have been increasingly recruiting across Europe and the USA. We have just opened our first US office, and upon joining, you will play a founding role in establishing Hawkwood as the preferred People & Talent Recruiter on the East Coast of the USA.

About the role
Hawkwood operate in a very relationship-driven market – People & Talent professionals are typically responsible for recruitment as part of their day job and, as such, many of our candidates become our clients, and vice versa.
Rather than carry out the more traditional forms of business development, we leverage candidate relationships, coupled with content marketing, to ensure a consistent and growing stream of new inbound clients.
The business development aspect of a Recruiter role at Hawkwood is best described as relentless networking, connecting and sharing of information with our vibrant community as to develop high-quality client relationships.
The success of this method hinges entirely on a Recruiter’s ability to build relationships, diligently follow-up, provide value-add consultancy and bring value to our community through sharing specialist knowledge.
When it comes to recruiting on behalf of our Tech clients, Hawkwood adopt a highly service-oriented approach to advising our clients on the best way to optimise for a successful hire, while scouring the market and leveraging our existing relationships to help them access the absolute best candidates.
About you
- A track record of consistently strong performance in an agency Recruitment Consultant role
- An interest in the world of technology, venture capital and innovation
- Experienced in recruiting highly-targeted permanent searches on behalf of clients with a high hiring bar
- The ability to build rapport and establish credibility quickly with candidates and clients
- Experienced in providing hands-on proactive Consultancy to clients to help them optimise their hiring process
- A creative and experimental approach to problem solving
- A service-oriented approach to supporting candidates and clients; going above and beyond to delight people and create memorable interactions
- Astute at crafting a personal brand and utilising social media to expand reach and better foster community
- The ability to exercise strong commercial judgement to effectively prioritise and stay laser-focused on driving positive outcomes
- Strong written communication
