We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Recruiting Specialist to join our fast-paced team. This role is critical in identifying top talent and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring and onboarding process. Responsibilities:
- Actively source candidates using online platforms, job boards, networking, and referrals.
- Write and post engaging job ads tailored to different transportation roles (drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, etc.).
- Screen resumes and applications to ensure candidates meet job-specific requirements.
- Conduct phone screens to assess candidate qualifications and availability.
- Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Coordinate and schedule Driver Road Tests.
- Provide clear communication and a welcoming candidate experience from first contact to hire.
- Extend job offers and assist candidates in understanding role expectations and benefits.
- Administer and observe oral drug tests in accordance with company policy
- Initiate and monitor background checks and MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) screenings
- Collect and verify I-9 documentation and ensure compliance with federal requirements
- Guide candidates through completing new hire paperwork
- Support new hire orientation and assist with initial onboarding activities
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a smooth start for new hires
- Stay current on the company's organizational structure, policies, and state and federal laws pertaining to fair employment practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources
- Experience in the Transportation industry preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Suite
- Enjoy people and excel at customer service
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, background check procedures, and drug testing practices preferred
- Able to communicate proficiently in English
- Able to work independently, yet able to take direction
- Able to pass a criminal background check
