Job Description
Ashford (NYSE American: AINC) is a leading provider of asset management and other services to companies within the hospitality industry. Ashford serves as the advisor to three real estate investment platforms listed below and an upcoming non-traded REIT:
- Braemar Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: BHR) – 15 luxury hotels with gross asset value of $2.5bn+,
- Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT) – 82 hotels with gross asset value of $5bn+,
- Texas Strategic Growth Fund - private equity fund investing in multifamily, industrial, and self storage acquisitions and developments.
General Job Functions
This position works to evaluate, acquire or sell real estate assets for all four of Ashford’s advised real estate investment platforms. The position will provide acquisitions and development support to BHR, AHT, and an upcoming non-traded REIT.
Job title will be determined based on your level of experience.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence on potential hotel real estate investments
- Provide due diligence on currently-held potential hotel developments
- Investment analysis may include financial statement analysis, discount cash flow analysis, market research and value proposition analysis
- Produce internal and external investment memoranda and other ad hoc quantitative and qualitative reports in connection with potential investments or dispositions
- Manage investment pipeline and external correspondence with sell side and buy side contacts
- Business review of legal documents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field (engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, etc.)
- Strong finance, accounting, quantitative/statistical analysis and financial modeling skills desired
- Time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
- Focused and detail-oriented with the ability to work quickly, independently and accurately
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate concisely and effectively
- Strong people skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment alongside senior management
- Strong Microsoft office skills
- Prior experience in M&A on the buy side evaluating historical financials and modeling projections is helpful
- Exceptional academic record (3.5+ GPA) with a demonstrated track record of achievement
