About The Role
The Head of Real Estate is charged with managing the Company’s land portfolio across Canada and the United States, including land acquisitions, lease management, and development projects related to the Company’s operations. This individual will lead a team to ensure proper title, manage relationships with landowners, and develop strategies for long-term growth. The scope includes active sites, organic growth in our operating businesses, greenfield exploration, and acquisition opportunities.
What You'll Accomplish

- The Head of Real Estate will collaborate with regional operations, geotechnical, environmental, and land management teams, along with other key business leaders to create a clear strategy for the United States and Canada. The team member must excel in effective team leadership, coaching, and technical expertise, including:
- Develop and implement the best standards and practices in real estate management.
- Oversee the Company’s real estate portfolio, including land acquisitions, lease management, property management, and development of projects.
- Define the strategic and operational development of sites.
- Identify and analyze market positions of both competitors and customers.
- Lead the team in constructing the strategic development of all operational sites to ensure competitiveness and growth strategy.
- Identify and acquire new properties for mining operations, as well as divest properties that are no longer needed.
- Negotiate and manage lease and purchase agreements for facilities and land used in operations.
- Manage the real estate acquisition process of new reserves, including due diligence, financial modeling, and transaction negotiation.
- Analyze title commitments and communicate applicable exemptions to fellow leadership.
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Business or Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or similar field
Required Work Experience: 12+ years of progressive advancement in real estate required
Required Computer and Software Skills: GIS software is a plus
Travel Requirements: 50%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
