Job Summary: The Junior Accountant will assist in managing daily financial and accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions related to our real estate and construction projects. This entry-level role provides support for the accounting team and offers opportunities for professional growth within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Recording: Accurately record and classify financial transactions in the accounting system, focusing on real estate and construction activities.
- Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements and reports by gathering and analyzing data.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts; monitor accounts to ensure timely payments.
- Expense Tracking: Maintain records of expenses and assist in processing expense reports.
- Construction Accounting Support: Assist in tracking project costs, budgets, and financial documentation.
- Monthly Loan Draws: Support the preparation and submission of monthly loan draw requests, coordinating with project managers and financial institutions.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial practices adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and accounting principles.
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and document management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Up to 2 years of accounting experience; exposure to the real estate or construction industry is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct, Sage 300 CRE and Yardi is preferred.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles; familiarity with construction accounting is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
