Job Description
The Property Analyst position in the Real Estate Services Section is included in a resource pool established to perform a variety of tasks throughout the Real Estate Section and Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Region offices. As a member of the resource pool, this position is included in a rotational training program for acquisition, relocation, appraisal, condemnation, excess property and property management functions in all units of the Real Estate Services Section and MDOT Region offices. Rotations may also include other areas throughout MDOT that affect Real Estate activities such as survey, environmental, and design. Rotational training activities may require statewide travel in order to gain the necessary experience. Upon completion of rotational training, this position is expected to be proficient with and assist senior level property analysts, specialists, and management with all real estate activities. Resource pool staff may be placed at any statewide project location requiring real estate assistance.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the experienced (P11) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

Required Education And Experience

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Property Analyst 10
One year of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst 9.
Property Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Property Analyst 10.
Education And Experience Property Analyst (Trainee) 9
Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Administrative Support Experience
Two years of E10- or E11-level experience.
OR
Four years of advanced or supervisory 9-level, or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9 experience.
OR
Two years of advanced or supervisory 10-level experience.
OR
One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience.
Business and Administrative Experience
Two years of E9- or E10-level experience.
OR
One year of advanced or supervisory 10-level (or higher) experience.
Human Services Experience
Two years of E9- or 10-level paraprofessional* or nursing experience.
OR
Two years of E10- or E11- or supervisory 10-level experience.
OR
One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience.
Engineering and Scientific Experience
Two years of E10-, E11-level or supervisory 10-level experience.

- Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college.
Educational Substitution
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
Alternate Education And Experience
Promotional Agent 9 - P11
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
Additional Requirements And Information
To be considered for this position you must:
- Possess a valid Michigan Limited Real Estate Appraisal License within twelve months of the date of hire into this position.
